Roy Williams the immediate past Chief Scout Executive of the Boy Scouts of America said, “Service is our greatest legacy”.  The Hornaday Award Weekend is generated out of the service of numerous volunteers and their organizations.  Through the leadership of the Chief Executive of the Capitol Area Council, JT Dabbs, the Council is of service to the Hornaday Award Weekend by unconditionally and tirelessly committing resources.  This endless voluntary support makes this is an experience like no other in Scouting. The leadership on the Hornaday Award committee and the sub committees work tirelessly to execute the core values of our vision to become a guiding light for other Councils of the BSA.

Volunteer service to our crusade is embraced unselfishly by several organizations in the Central Texas region.  Please take the time it visit the websites of our core volunteer partners to learn more about their commitment to protecting and managing the natural resources of the United States of America.
